ARTICLE I - NAME
The name of the organization shall be THE 9-19 CLUB.
ARTICLE II - OBJECT
The object of this club shall be to further promote the game of golf among friends by encouraging regular and frequent play and the assurance of a “game” without the usual preliminaries and to provide the overall enjoyment that results from collective good sportsmanship and good fellowship.
ARTICLE III - RECOMMENDED MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES
SECTION 1. There will be no limits to the number of active members, subject to the candidate and approval requirements of SECTION 2 below.
SECTION 2. Candidates for membership may be proposed to the Membership Chairman with a copy to the Executive Committee by an active member (Proposer) at any time. The Proposer is then responsible for obtaining a Seconder for his candidate. The Membership Chairman after approval by the Executive Committee shall notify the Proposer, Seconder and candidate of the acceptance or rejection of the applicant. The Executive Committee should have sufficient time to consider the merits of the applicant through direct contact or inquiry before making a decision on membership.
SECTION 3: The approved candidate shall be offered an invitation to become a member by the Membership Chairman, and if accepted, will be sent a formal Letter of Welcome to the 9-19 CLUB by the Membership Chairman.
SECTION 4. Inactive membership - any member who, because of physical or other good and sufficient reasons, including having moved from the area and cannot play golf with the members during the regularly scheduled season, will be granted inactive status. An active member who, at the end of the regular golfing season, has not participated in 25% or more of the scheduled golfing activities may be moved to inactive status upon approval of the Executive Committee.
ARTICLE IV - ORGANIZATION
SECTION 1. A member shall be appointed each year to be responsible for the activities of the 9-19 Club. He will be designated as the Beaver. The term of the Beaver shall commence immediately after the end of the golf season. He will normally first serve as the Beaver-Elect the previous year. The Beaver-Elect will be appointed by the incoming Beaver after consultation with the Executive Committee. In the event there is no Beaver-Elect or he is unable to serve as Beaver, the new Beaver will be appointed by the outgoing Beaver after consultation with the Executive Committee. In the event that the Beaver is unable to perform his duties, the Executive Committee shall appoint an Interim Beaver to serve the balance of the Beaver’s term or until it determines that the Beaver is able to resume his duties.
SECTION 2. A Statistician, a Secretary and a Treasurer will be appointed by the Executive Committee to handle such functions as designated by the Beaver and the Executive Committee.
SECTION 3. The Executive Committee will consist of the Beaver, Beaver-Elect, and the three most recent past Beavers willing and able to serve, as well as the Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chair and Statistician. The Committee will provide consultation and assistance to the Beaver.
ARTICLE V - DUES
The annual dues for active and inactive members shall be determined by the Executive Committee and reported to the membership at the Annual Meeting and/or by written or e-mail communication.
ARTICLE VI - AMENDMENTS
These Articles of Association may be altered, amended or repealed by majority vote of the active members participating by attendance or proxy at the Annual Meeting or at a special meeting called for this purpose by the Beaver. Any proposed changes must be submitted to the active members at least fourteen (14) days in advance of any such meetings unless there is a waiver of notice. Members may vote in person or by proxy (including proxy submitted by e-mail).
